EPITHETS

EPITHETS is a micro-TTRPG about making a name for yourself, literally. With this simple rule system, the only character creation you need is the name of your character, and everything else - be it skills, goals, or personality - will be based on that.

In a fantasy world where one's name defines their very essence,
what is your Hero's Name?

Gain fame and level up your character by completing Heroic Acts to elaborate your name until your character has an introduction as epic as these:

Maximus Decimus Meridius,
commander of the Armies of the North,
General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor, Marcus Aurelius.
Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife.

Background:

EPITHETS was designed for 24-word RPG Jam with the restriction of the mechanics being explainable in 24 words or less. Like most micro-RPGs, it is more of an thought experiment of a concept than a game. Nevertheless, I do hope some of you find the concept intriguing. If nothing else, this might be the only ttrpg in the world, which rules can contain fewer words than the name of a PC to play 

The project was additionally submitted for ttRPG JAMuary and 12 microTTRPGs in 12 Months: January Joy with the same project, as by coincidence, they all had similar enough requirements. In both of the latter jams the main requirement was completing the game during January.
